About AnswerPlug

AnswerPlug is a Reddit marketing service that finds Reddit threads where a business's product is being asked about, drafts an answer for each, and has a person post the approved ones from an established Reddit account.

What AnswerPlug does

Thread finding

AnswerPlug reads your website, works out what you sell and who buys it, and scores Reddit threads where that comes up. The output is a queue of threads, each with a drafted answer.

Drafted answers

Each draft answers the question in the thread first and mentions the product only where it fits. You can edit, approve or reject every draft.

Posting by a person

A person opens the thread, posts the approved answer by hand from their own established Reddit account, and sends back the link. The app never transmits anything to Reddit.

Removal checks

Every posted comment is checked again a day later. If a moderator removed it, the $10.00 goes back on your balance.

What makes AnswerPlug different

Someone else posts the comment

A person on the posting team puts the answer up. With Redreach, Syften and F5Bot you open Reddit and post yourself.

Billed per live comment

$10.00 per comment that goes live, with no subscription. Syften charges $29.95 to $119.95 a month and Brand24 starts at $249 a month, whether or not you reply to anything.

Removed comments are refunded

A comment a moderator removes costs nothing. Subscription tools such as Buska ($49 to $249 a month) bill the same either way.

Who uses AnswerPlug

How AnswerPlug works

  1. Paste your website address. The first run is free and takes about a minute.
  2. Sign in with a magic link by email.
  3. Add a card. Adding it charges nothing and adds $20 in credits, which covers two comments.
  4. Set a daily budget between $10 and $100 (default $30, three comments). $0 pauses posting.
  5. Approve, edit or reject drafts, or turn on auto-approve, which queues a draft two hours after it is written.
  6. A person posts approved answers, spaced through the day and across subreddits.
  7. Questions go to hello@answerplug.com or the support widget on every page.
